This Thursday, September 22, 2016, The Dr. Oz Show will have a segment on pet food titled “What’s Really in Your Pet Food and Does It Matter?”
Several weeks ago I received an email from Evermore Pet Food sharing they were contacted by The Dr. Oz show about pet food/the pet food industry; Evermore sent The Dr. Oz Show to me. I talked at length with the Dr. Oz producer, multiple times AND I provided the show with documentation of everything we spoke about. Federal law, FDA Compliance Policies allowing law to be ignored, endotoxins, illegal ingredients,…a lot of documentation (I’m sure their brains were on overload). I talked about and perhaps sent too much information, but it’s hard to stop me once I get on a roll.
A week or so later, I got an email from the producer asking if I knew of any veterinarians in the New York City area; they wanted to film a veterinarian about pet food. It just happened that I did. For those that have followed this website for a few years, you’ll remember when I was invited to speak to veterinary students at Western University of Health and Science in Pomona, CA; in fact pet owners donated to get me out to California to speak. The vet student that asked me to come to California and speak – Lisa Lippman – is now Dr. Lisa Lipmann practicing in Manhattan. Dr. Lisa Lippman was interviewed on film for this Dr. Oz segment.
The pet food segment on the Dr. Oz Show will air this Thursday – September 22, 2016. Here is the preview for the show: http://www.doctoroz.com/episode/what-s-really-your-pet-food-and-does-it-matter
A Reader that follows this website explained something to me years ago that sticks with me to this day. She explained she couldn’t understand/accept all the bad information about pet food all at one time. She compared it to the layers of an onion. She said she could only remove one layer at a time; deal with that, and then move on to another layer. My hope is that the Dr. Oz Show will (at the least) be the first layer of the onion for many pet food consumers. More layers will be peeled back later.
My fingers are crossed.
Wishing you and your pet(s) the best,
