I ordered some dog treats directly from Jump Your Bones and paid online by credit card. They never shipped my treats, even though I contacted them repeatedly by phone and email. They kept promising to send my order, but never did. Finally I contacted the Better Business Bureau in Florida, requesting a refund. Jump Your Bones never responded to the Better Business Bureau, so several months later my complaint remains unresolved. This company is NOT REPUTABLE, and after experiencing their unethical behavior I would *never* take a chance on one of their products. Please beware of Jump Your Bones … a company that would pull this kind of scam can’t possibly be trusted to manufacture safe pet products!!! Please also note that their products are sold via … whom I have also notified about my complaint with JYB.

You don’t say where you live, but your cautionary story is just one more reason why to shop with your local small independent pet supply retailer. Most small independents are more that happy to accommodate special requests and often have products that are equally as attractive as the ones from on line retailers, but have the experience to know which manufacturer is reputable and which products are responsibly made.

Jump Your Bones, a Florida-based pet treat company, has voluntarily recalled its Kangaroo Bites and Roo Bites brand treats because of potential Salmonella contamination.
The affected lots of Jump Your Bones Pet Treats were distributed to retail pet food stores nationwide and in boutique bags and online stores. Pet treat products affected by this recall can be identified with the following UPC codes:
    63633010041 for 80g. / 2.82oz, including samples of .32 oz.

Jump Your Bones recalled the items because they had the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella due to a packaging issue in Australia during one shipment received in early 2012, which has now been resolved for all products produced in 2012 and 2013.

No pet or consumer illnesses from this product have been reported to date. IN an Abundance of caution, because of our comment to safety and quality, Jump Your Bones Pet Treats is conducting a voluntary recall of this product. Jump Your Bones has had all current product tested for negative for Salmonella.

Jump Your Bones has since tested all products at their warehouse for Salmonella. The results from the FDA show no presence of Salmonella. Furthermore, no pet or consumer illnesses associated with this recall had been reported at the time of this press release.
Those at risk of being infected with Salmonella should monitor for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. Salmonella can also result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms.
Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If a pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, or another pet or human has these symptoms, contact your veterinarian or health care provider.
If you have purchased pet treat products affected by this Jump Your Bones recall you are urged to stop feeding them to your pet and to return the product(s) to the place of purchase for a full refund.
For further information about the recall, call (888) 249-6755 from Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST).

No, Charlene, you are incorrect. I have never been issued a refund, and my complaint is now one of THREE pending for Jump Your Bones with the Better Business Bureau of Central Florida. The BBB has issued an “Alert” for your company, and the BBB gives Jump Your Bones a rating of “F.” This is public information that is available to anyone who wants to verify it … simply go to and enter Jump Your Bones as the company name. At this point I am grateful that you never shipped my order, because I would never trust any product from Jump Your Bones. To all other pet parents out there, please beware of this disreputable company.
