The following is the prompt response I received from AAFCO regarding the heavy metal testing of pet food.

The following is the prompt response I received from AAFCO regarding the heavy metal testing of pet food.

Dear Susan,

Thank you for your message. Feed control officials who make up AAFCO’s membership would be very interested in Spex CertiPrep’s information; however, before AAFCO can respond, we need to read the details of the study. Please allow us the time to read the published paper once it is available, and we will be better able to make a well-informed statement for your readers.

Thank you again for the information.

Regards,
Teresa Crenshaw
Chair, AAFCO Pet Food Committee

I replied to Ms. Crenshaw that as soon as I receive the published paper I will send it to her/AAFCO.  Thank you AAFCO for such a prompt reply.

No reply has been received from the White House, the Pet Food Institute, or FDA.

Wishing you and your pet(s) the best,

Sick Pet Caused by a Pet Food?

If your pet has become sick or has died you believe is linked to a pet food, it is important to report the issue to FDA and your State Department of Agriculture.

Save all pet food – do not return it for a refund.

If your pet required veterinary care, ask your veterinarian to report to FDA.
