From Carol R…
Hello Susan,
This is just an FYI email for you; I’ve been using Wellness cat food for many years.  Was very disappointed to find foreign bright blue objects in two separate cans of turkey/salmon recently.  Details below.

I’m emailing this info to Wellness also.

TO:  WELLNESS CAT FOOD
RE:  OBJECT FOUND IN CANS OF TURKEY/SALMON

I have been using Wellness cat food for many years with good results.  However, after the experience related below, I’m no longer using your product.

Two cans (bought on 2 different occasions) were found to have foreign objects in the food.  Both objects were similar:  what appears to be a rectangular shaped blue piece of flat plastic.  In both cases it was not found on top, but was inside the food and discovered when I put the food in the dish.  In both cases I covered the can and put it in the freezer.

Don’t know exact purchase dates/locations because I buy a lot of this food.   It’s one of two stores:  Petsmart on Foothill in Pasadena, CA or Centinela Feed on Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA.

Dates would be Dec 2010/January 2011.

Thanks Carol for sharing your story with TruthaboutPetFood.com readers.  Carol is reporting this incident to FDA and her State Department of Agriculture too.  Please keep us posted on what everyone does regarding this investigation.

Oh no. 4 years later and it doesn’t look like Wellness has resolved this issue. I was feeding my foster dogs their Chicken Stew… But today, I found a small piece of blue plastic lodged into a chicken chunk 🙁

I just found a piece of blue plastic, small bead sized like a mustard seed. In Kirkland brand natures domain turkey and pea stew canned dog food. It’s small but the blue really stood out amongst the brown. Any plastic is in good is unacceptable.
