If pet parents only knew how easy it was to get meat at the grocery store, better yet, at your local butcher, if in a small town. Check for recalls on the Gov website for any meat recalls. To grind the meat up and put that portion in plastic freezer bags. Get all fresh produce, have some Coconut Oil, broth, use grade supplements.. My cat is much better after five/six years having a quality diet. Thank you Susan for the information that is always in my Email. Good work, and good re search.

Salmonella is not good but Listeria kills. It really is time to mandate testing of all finished products before sale!

I just discovered my carnivore last fall (Oct 2025) through the Shop App and I was having trouble getting the usual stuff I bought so I took a chance on it. First order was just incredibly slow processing, like 3 and half weeks after order and payment … I was OK with the price and OK with with the food was so I accepted the late scheduling and went ahead and got my second order that included I mutton. Zelda, my 2.5 year old 130 pound AKC Silver Black German Shepherd gobbled up the first order like she always eats, two lbs gobbled up in less than 60 minutes (from her slow feeder no less) but on the second order, the mutton that I received late December 2025, she would NOT get near any of it. I mean, I could not smell a thing about it seem fine to me, but it was so unusual for my dog because Zelda can do long division if there is food at the end of it and I’ve never seen her turn down anything and I mean, never turned down anything, she wouldn’t even get near her bowl. And I was fairly upset because I spent some money to get this and have it shipped so I tried mixing it with other things and after a day of trying this I gave up. I tried like a week or two later and then, finally with my old supplier got back supplies up. I switched back to them and tossed this mutton. I just figured “oh well” because I’ve been going round and round with lots of different broth suppliers to try to find my dog who eats so much and economical weight to do it and I’ve been disappointed before but having just come across the recall, despite regularly reading your emails , I’m so grateful that she smelled something wrong with it and now that I see this, you know about 9 months since the incident, I feel vindicated about going back to my regional supplier when they got their supply issue straightened out and I’m so glad that my dog knew what was good for her. I really am. Thanks so much for everything you do. Mark and Zelda
