A public statement from Jacqueline Hill and Roxanne Stone formerly of Answers Pet Food.

A public statement from Jacqueline Hill and Roxanne Stone formerly of Answers Pet Food.

Received today, 5/6/2021:

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce our resignation from Answers Pet Food.

We leave the company with a heartfelt gratefulness to all the incredible, dedicated, conscientious, passionate humans and their animal companions that made this venture and upward movement in the raw pet food industry possible.

We sincerely appreciate the support, education, and commitment from all those involved in bringing nutrient dense, functional, beneficial, raw foods to our companion animals. We further send our appreciation to the devoted, hardworking farmers and tireless volunteers who collaborate and advocate for raw foods for our companion animals. We continue to be filled with the passion and desire to help animals and their caretakers and we look forward to the possibilities the future may bring. We appreciate the patience and consideration that all our amazing customers, retailers, veterinarians, and distributors have afforded us at this difficult time.

Gratefully,

Jacqueline Hill and Roxanne Stone

To all pet owners that have purchased the List, Answers Pet Food has been removed from the 2021 List. This is due to verification of ingredients – all verification was provided by Roxanne Stone who has resigned, thus making the verification null and void towards products manufactured after the resignation. It is unknown at this time if the brand will be questioned for consideration in the 2022 List.

Notification was sent to current CEO of Answers Pet Food of removal from the List and he provided this Response.

Thank you I just purchased that list. I think if the man owner (who is divorcing his wife) really wants to stay on the list, he would work with you instead of saying (and that is my interpretation of his letter) that you were spreading misinformation.

The only thing we know is that multiple individuals have resigned. I don’t know anything else other than what is in both statements.

The husband is left holding the bag I guess. Interested to know what develops with this.

Just leave the drama with your momma and stop acting irrational until you see the pudding.

Well I read the letter from the husband/CEO. It sounds like alot of personal things going on. it happens…and all we can do is hope the company will make it through this dark period for the Hills. Not sure why the other lady would resign unless just really good friends with the wife.

Answers has always been a mixed bag to be honest. On the one end, they have been pioneers taking on the system but on the other end, I see a lot of pets who don’t do well on this food. Im on about 5 different canine groups on line equalling about 100k members combined. I continually see the question posed, “what other raw can I use because my dog doesn’t do well on Answers.”
I really could care less about their divorce. My big question is, has anyone studied the impact of continuously feeding your dog fermented foods day after day, year after year?? Just saying, there are better vendors out there like OC Raw, Darwins and Raw Bistro just to name a few. I think its tine for Answers to call it a day. Our pets aren’t science experiments.

I also just read another article from a lady who blogs and uses Answers dog food. ‘ The news that the brilliant founders of Answers Pet Food, Jacqueline Hill and Roxanne Stone, left the company, followed by the Science Director and Face of Answers Pet Food, Billy Hoekman, and their on staff veterinarian, Dr. Doug Knueven.” (This comes from this page: https://keepthetailwagging.com/9-alternative-raw-brands-in-light-of-answers-pet-food-news/)
I used to use Dr Doug Knueven as a vet when I lived in West Virginia (we drove to PA to see him) At that time he was a good alternative vet for holistic stuff and chiropractic. That was in 2004 but I do not know anything about him since.
