Don’t forget your pet this Thanksgiving. Here are two recipes (one cat, one dog) for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Thanksgiving Dinner for Cats
Protein 20 grams Fat 13 grams Calories 216
Serves one 10 lb cat, 2 meals, 1 day
Ingredients
1/2 cup turkey breast cooked, skin removed, shredded or ground
2 oysters
1 tablespoon pumpkin, canned
1 teaspoon sunflower seeds, dried, no salt added, ground
1 teaspoon almond butter
150 mg calcium or slightly less than 1/8 teaspoon finely ground egg shell
Optional 1/4 cup bone broth
Combine turkey and mashed oysters, mix well. Add pumpkin, sunflower seeds, almond butter and calcium, mix. Add broth, mix again and serve.
Hint: almond butter mixes easier when warmed slightly.
Thanksgiving Dinner for Dogs
Protein 39 grams Fat 29 grams Calories 560
Serves one 30 lb dog, 2 meals, 1 day
Ingredients
3/4 cup turkey breast cooked, skin and fat removed, ground/shredded
2 oysters mashed
3/4 cup sweet potato cooked in skin, chopped into bite size
3/4 cup cauliflower steamed, chopped into bite size
3/4 cup green beans steamed, chopped into bite size
2 tablespoons almond butter
400 mg calcium or 1/4 teaspoon finely ground egg shell
Optional 1/2 cup bone broth
Combine turkey, mashed oysters, sweet potato, cauliflower, and green beans into medium bowl; mix well. Add almond butter and calcium; mix. Add bone broth, mix.
Hint: almond butter mixes easier when warmed slightly.
