Hollywood Feed Carolina Prime Jerky Treat Recall

Beef, chicken, elk, pork and turkey treat varieties.

The FDA has not issued a public press release on these recalls, the following information was taken from FDA Enforcement Report records.

Note added 10/13/23: The FDA website states these treats were “distributed by Hollywood Feed” – this information from the FDA website is not accurate. Thanks to evidence provided by Hollywood Feed, these treats were never put into distribution (never sold in Hollywood Feed stores). Hollywood Feed tested the shipment of jerky treats when received, one sample tested positive for Salmonella, the treats were returned to the manufacturer and Hollywood Feed reported the Salmonella positive test results to FDA.

Why does anyone buy substandard (not USDA approved) “jerky treats” for dogs? Just buy real jerky and give them that!

I shop at HF and buy the duck and black bean for my dog who is allergic to beef and chicken. I texted the store manager about this and they have not been notified of this recall.
