Can You Make a Phone Call Today To Help Pets?

Help STOP North Carolina from banning raw milk pet products.

The state of North Carolina is voting tomorrow (5/13/25) to end the opportunity for pets to have access to raw milk products. Phone calls are needed today – Monday May 12, 2025 – to offices of North Carolina Senators.

The North Carolina Farm Bill – Senate Bill 639 – originally continued to allow raw milk pet products. But a change was made in the Bill at last minute striking the language that allowed raw milk pet products.

In the latest copy of the Bill, you can see the North Carolina government struck the entire paragraph that previously allowed the sale of raw milk pet products.

If it passes the North Carolina Senate, the Bill will move into the North Carolina House for a vote – but pet owners need to stop the bill from passing as it is currently written.

Raw milk pet products are available for sale is almost all US states. In fact, AAFCO Model Bill and Regulations – adopted by North Carolina – includes regulations that specifically allow the sale of raw milk pet products. However…someone in North Carolina has decided these valuable pet products (valuable to pet health) should no longer be allowed.

Pet owners and independent pet store owners in North Carolina have been working against this concerning bill, but they need your help! (Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/691211383851205)

Take five minutes of your day (today) and make a phone call to one or more of the NC Senators.

All you need to say is:

(Example) Please do not pass Senate Bill 639 as written. I am a pet owner and I want raw milk pet products to be available for my pet(s).

Google: value of cow milk to cats and see all the resources sating milk of any kind isn’t good for cats. https://www.petmd.com/cat/nutrition/can-cats-drink-milk “Allowing cats to drink milk on a regular basis simply adds fats and sugars into their diet, causing it to become unbalanced and making it more likely Fluffy will become overweight.” https://www.catster.com/nutrition/can-cats-drink-milk/ “Milk isn’t toxic for cats, but it isn’t good for them. As we’ve mentioned above, many cats are lactose intolerant as adults; giving these cats a saucer of milk will only make them sick and feel terrible. However, milk isn’t great for cats, even if they aren’t lactose intolerant, since it’s high in fats and calories.” And no raw milk isn’t different and you are just taking the chance of giving your cat an non-curable, 90% fatal, easily preventable disease. Cat lovers should be in favor of this bill.
