Received at 4:56 PM ET, Friday January 17, 2020 – AAFCO will allow consumers and consumer advocates to attend the meeting that starts in 4 days.
Received from AAFCO this afternoon:
I will be attending the meeting, providing pet food consumers a voice in the pet food regulatory process (as we deserved all along).
Just curious, what do pet owners think about this statement from AAFCO (from their email): “We hope to move ahead as a more collaborative and cohesive community this year, focused on our shared commitment to ensuring that our pets have safe and nutritious food options.” And do you think they really are looking forward to seeing us?
I’ll provide updates from the meeting as soon as possible.
Pet owners are now allowed to listen to the meeting (this option was previously removed from access on the AAFCO website). To listen to the Pet Food Committee meeting – Wednesday January 22, 2020, 9:30 AM MST – Click Here (phone numbers or web access information on top of agenda).
To listen to the Ingredient Definitions Committee Meeting – Wednesday January 22, 2020, 3:30 PM MST – Click Here.
To listen to Keynote speaker from Darling Ingredients (a national rendering company) titled “Sustainability: Our purpose is to repurpose” – Click Here.
Information on all other committee meetings can be found Here, under Final Committee Agendas.
Wishing you and your pet(s) the best,

Eh, I don’t understand this comment, but I think in this forum we should express opinions about individual legislators only as they relate to pet food. These problems have been ongoing under all administrations. We need to hold all our government representatives and agencies responsible to help with legislation or investigations.

He just did.
Let me explain. By making the comparison that AAFCO is to the PFI as politicians are to taxpayers.

What does Adam Schiff have to do with this?! Keep your politics (that don’t relate to this) off this forum, Trump Toadies!

The AAFCO, as representative of the pet food industry, has an adversarial relationship with consumers, and there isn’t any reason to interpret that they are anything other than hostile to your presence.

Congrats! It sounds like your contacts with the FDA regarding this whole incident garnered results! That letter is classic, “our attorney said to say this to cover our butts”. I guarantee that is not what’s being said behind closed doors. Be careful and have a safe trip!

I just spit out my coffee laughing at their “proclamation.”
On behalf of pet parents everywhere, my deepest gratitude to you Susan for standing up for our pets’ rights not to be poisoned and for atanding up to the hypocrites of AAFC0 who use intimidation and lies to hide the truth.
To AAFCO: May your children grow up without your corrupted sense of morality.

Oh for crying out loud!!! I don’t know what to think here. Maybe someone above them read them the riot act?

I think you’re right. Given the sardonic tone and content of their emails, a “higher up” had to make them change their position.

I think their statement is damage control. But now we do have something to hold them accountable to – key words – “collaborative”, “cohesive”, “shared commitment”, “ensuring”, “safe and nutritious”.

I believe AAFCO and maybe FDA was feeling the pressure! Trying to save face at the last minute. I have no hope for any truth to their sudden cooperative attitude. Exposing the emails, gave a real jolt! Thanks for your hours of hard work. Please watch your back and safe travels.

Their emails discovered through the FOIA requests already have shown us how they feel about consumers. I don’t believe a word they say.

Hi Susan, I don’t think it matters much materially what AAFCO says…whether they sound good or evil. I think what matters is that you & advocates like you act in a productive manner, one that is not retaliatory for the sake of retaliation, & in a manner that is in good faith. For the sake of everyone involved, on all sides, including pets, I think it is important to advocate for what you / we believe is in the best interests of our furbabies & de-escalate conflict whenever appropriate. Endless thanks for what you do to that end.

The small print ” AAFCO reserves the right to decline a registration within 7 days of receipt, including same day registrations. In the event a registration is declined, the full amount remitted to AAFCO for a registration will be refunded in the same payment format as when the payment was submitted. Notice of a registration being declined will be sent via email to the registrant.”

It is time for pet owners to feed real food and not worry so much about commercial pet food. When pet owners stop following the brainwashing by design by mainstream media, TelLievision and allopathic veterinarians that promote Big Pet Food, then there is change. Stop buying commercial pet food and then these huge corporations don’t have the money then there will be more power for the pet owners. Many pet owners are still B type pet owners, Brainwashed via the media, and veterinarian and big veterinary pharma industry. Become informed, become a type I informed pet owner do your own research, mainstream media tells mostly all lies to make consumers spend money on bad products, start reading DogsNaturallyMagazine .com VitalAnimal .com DoctorDeva .com just for starters.
It is a process, but over time you start learning to feed your pets real food and stop being dependent on making Big Pet Food rich and powerful.
book online…… Pet Food, Pets Die For ….by Pet Food Researcher Ann Martin to teach you the truth.
FREE PROTEIN ingredients, dead dogs and cats are picked up in trucks by rendering companies. Animal Shelter Killing Centers give the dead pets away for free to the pet food companies. This is free meat protein.
FREE CARBS The cereal industry gives away all the moldy and buggy wheat, corn, soy, potatoes for free carbs for pet food to stick this crap together.
FREE FAT – the restaurant industry gives away 50 gallon drums of used fat sitting in the heat with bacteria producing massive toxins in the fat. Cooking the pet food will not remove the toxins made by bacteria.
Who doesn’t want a business with free ingredients, this increases profits greatly.
This is why Big Pet Food is so super profitable and will do anything to lie to pet food consumers.
