2014 Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas…

Twas the night before Christmas, almost the end of a year;
We’re hugging our pets – that’s something to cheer.
We’ve wrapped up their presents, tied up with a bow;
But we still wonder and worry – is the food safe we put in their bowl?

The FDA is nestled with close ties to Pet Food;
While complaints from consumers disturb their good mood.
And AAFCO continues with another meeting in weeks;
Will consumers have justice or will politics reek?

Inside information from Santa I must share;
The work is almost done – the full truth we will bare.
Little elves are working overtime on this most amazing feat;
What consumers have done – there is nothing so neat.

Within just a few days, after the start of the New Year,
All regulatory authorities will have nothing to cheer.
What we’ve found – what we’ve proven – is mighty big stuff;
FDA and AAFCO will grumble, their mood will be gruff.

Consumers will finally have scientific proof as their voice;
Authorities will have to listen – they will have no choice.
Our concerns and complaints went unheard for so long;
We took matters into our own hands – we have the proof of what’s wrong.

There’s one thing for certain – not even a doubt;
There is nothing as special as pets and pet people I shout.
Your love of your furry ones is awesome indeed;
Your support of us advocates is also awesome indeed!

I wish you all the best Holiday ever;
Thanks to all of you, I never say never.
Next year…with science, we will continue the fight;
The Pet Food Test Results will be published – they will be our might!

Merry Christmas to all – Happy New Year too!
Susan Thixton

    I too love the sandman.

    It could also be a symbol for big (won’t say ‘fat’) government bureaucrats and pet food reps aiming to throw sand in our eyes and into Susan’s gears.

    Safe Holidays for all.

    What a kool “Sandman!” It makes me homesick for my beach as there’s certainly none in G’ville. Happy, Happy Holidays!!!

    Wonderful, Susan, I am sharing. It is true, the work you do is yeoman, and so essential. You are our pets’ Erin Brockovich! Your sandman reminds me of the Bumble in “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” seems tough, but just has a toothache!

    Merry Christmas to All!! Susan you are a special Lady and please tell the Elves how much their work means to us. I still grieve for my babies I lost in 2007.
    Innocent Lives snuffed out too early because of greed..represents everything wrong in our world today.

    Oh- on the Blue buyout by Mars- interesting since Mars owns the Banfields in the PetSmarts.-
    And the relationship between PetSmart and Banfields is not arms length.
